"Awomadah's amazing and versatile voice draws you in leading you through a unique emotional landscape.... At first I'm thinking Kate Bush or Tori Amos, frankly, she transcends both those women and finds an amazing place all of her own." Music blogger John Hamilton
Earthy, Quirky … Musical Controversy
Awomadah fig is a whistler, singer songwriter, combining ukulele, distortion and wah wah pedal with a voice that lilts, growls, belts and soars. She's been performing as a soloist on guitar for nigh on 20 years. For the past 4 yrs she's been performing with Melbourne 5 piece The Monday Project and engrossed in ukuleles. Writing new tunes, transcribing old tunes and transforming covers on her favourite tenor ukulele. Her voice has been described as playfully articulate in a non conventional way... timeless...hypnotic. "Plain old folk this ain't ….
I shall call it pirate folk !" - John Hamilton |
"Great talent… I love the way you embrace your vocal range - quirky and unique!…" Music educator Sharon Miller

March- April
After 3 months in Europe and 4 and half months playing around N.S.W and Southern Queensland. I arrived back down in Melbourne in late February, and picked up 2 regular jobs on the first day back. So everything is looking forward to another summer in Europe this year (well maybe just a month) followed by some Australia East coast gigging upon return. Musically I'm currently embarking on a whole lotta metronome homework & also playing around with some new technology (well, for me) But my fingers are getting itchy for performance so watch this space. Cheers x
